In collaboration with VueMotion, Vector Hockey Performance has developed a valid and reliable method to quantify skating performance for players of all levels. It’s the power of a Motion Capture lab in the palm of your hand!

What is STRIDE-FX?

STRIDE-FX is an individual report summarizing the key performance outputs and biomechanical features of the skater. The multi-page report is designed to highlight areas of strength and weakness, providing context and the ability for performance coaches to make informed decisions to improve skating.

How does it work?

Skating is a complex movement that only becomes more variable when the puck is dropped for game time. By analyzing fundamental abilities like Sprinting and Change of Direction, we can better understand the building blocks of speed. Using the Vuemotion capture app (iOS), your iPhone, and a standardized testing lane, high resolution videos are processed by our AI software in less than 24hrs.

What are the test Protocols?

STRIDE-FX’s initial assessment protocol is a 20m Linear Sprint. The ability to accelerate quickly is arguably the most critical skill in skating. This test is the first building block of speed assessment and training interventions. We are scheduled to release the 10-0-10 Change of Direction test in fall of 2025, with additional tests such as Flying 20m/Max Velocity and Arc Based Acceleration/COD reports.

The process to get started is simple. First you will be required to set up an account and select your management platform choice. The platform choice will determine the number of athletes you can manage and will allow for enhanced features. Once you have chosen a platform, you simply purchase report credits which are used once you have acquired the skating video via the Vuemotion app or directly from your phones camera.
